Hello GSMN members!  

 

It is time to celebrate this holiday season and what better way to do that than to have a party!  The 2023 GSMN Committee is working hard to make our last 2023 event a success.

 

EVENT DETAILS:

DATE:  December 16, 2023

TIMING: 

5:30 Check-in

6:00 Dinner begins

7:30 Santa Clause visit, games, and music

9:00 Refreshments

10:00 Dancing until midnight

Unfortunately the venue for the holiday party this year has a limited capacity of 300 people.  Those who RSVP will be required to pay through Yapsody $5 per family member that is attending.  5 years and under are not required to have a Yapsody ticket.  When you attend the event, your Yapsody ticket(s) will be scanned and we will refund the $5 per person to you within a week's time.  If you bought a ticket and your Yapsody ticket has not been scanned, you will not be refunded the money you paid for the ticket(s) and the money will be used to offset the cost of any food overage.  No one will be allowed entry without a confirmed RSVP and a Yapsody ticket.  This $5 requirement was mentioned as a solution to food being wasted at our events because people that RSVP'd did not attend.  

Having this $5 requirement per person is also due to the following that occurred recently:

 

•  Many people RSVP'd to the Bollywood Music Night that did not attend the event.
•  There were many people who were not able to attend because of the RSVP reaching full capacity at the venue and we had to close the RSVP early.
• The night of the event, at least one third of the seats were vacant.
• That many more people could have attended the event, but instead there were open seats and much food was wasted.

 

Since the Holiday Party has limited capacity, we are using this $5/person requirement to hopefully deter people from submitting an RSVP and then not attending the event.  The RSVP link is not included in this email, but will be sent in 2 days to give members time to review this information and determine if they are able to attend the Holiday Party.

This event is open to ONLY MEMBERS that have renewed their GSMN membership for next year.  If you have not done so, I have added the membership information below for your easy reference.  Thank you for your understanding and patience while we try this new method of RSVPing and a reminder that the RSVP link will be sent in 2 days for the Holiday Party.

How do I add/renew membership?

You are requested to enter your membership data again and select the membership options that match your current family structure and need.  Your information will be electronically saved and accessible for reference at future events in 2024.

 

Steps to follow

1. Two ways to enter data (printed membership form is no longer an option for renewal)
   • Click on the link  ==>>  Membership Renewal Link 
   • Visit Gujarati Samaj Membership Page and click on Orange button Renew Membership Online
2. Enter your household details (email id, name, address, phone number, children names/birthdates, parent names etc. Definition of a family is one address, husband, wife, unmarried children, parents living with you
3. Select the membership type.  Do not click Submit until after you have paid online!!
4. Click the link to pay online with a credit card through Paypal
5. Go back to the membership form, copy the Paypal payment confirmation code and enter it on the last page of the membership form above the Submit button
6. Click SUBMIT. 

 If you need to pay by cash or check, you should still enter the membership details online ahead of the Holiday Party, enter "check" or "cash" in the payment confirmation section on the last page of the membership form, come to the venue, and submit your payment.  No one will be allowed into the venue without a paid GSMN membership and a Yapsody ticket.
